Understanding Your PGT Warranty
PGT is one of Florida’s best-known impact window and door manufacturers, and Complete Sliding Doors & Windows is a PGT dealer. PGT backs its products with a lifetime limited warranty, but what that covers depends on your product line and when it was purchased, and a lot of common problems aren’t covered at all.
This page explains PGT’s warranty in plain English, how to file a claim, and what to do when the warranty doesn’t apply. For the official terms, always check your own warranty documents or PGT’s warranty page.

What PGT's Warranty Typically Covers
Coverage varies by product series (WinGuard, EnergyVue, ClassicVue and others) and purchase date, but PGT’s residential warranties have typically included:
- Frames: a limited lifetime warranty on many product lines
- Insulated glass seal: coverage against seal failure (fogging between panes) for many years, depending on the series
- Hardware, screens and moving parts: from 10 years to limited lifetime, depending on the series
- Colored or laminated finishes: often 10 years
Full coverage usually applies to the original owner, with limited transfer to a new owner. Check PGT’s warranty page for the current documents for your product.

What PGT's Warranty Usually Doesn't Cover
Most PGT warranty claims come down to the fine print. PGT’s warranties have typically excluded:
- Labor and delivery costs
- Wear from salt air and coastal exposure, which PGT says requires increased care and maintenance
- Problems from improper installation, maintenance, or cleaning
- Water intrusion from wind-driven rain during high-wind events
- Aftermarket paint or products, and natural weathering
That’s why worn rollers, pitted tracks, and sticking locks on PGT doors usually aren’t warranty items. That’s exactly the work we do every day.
