Glass Replacement in The Villages
If the glass in your lanai slider or one of your windows has gone cloudy, cracked or broken, you probably don’t need a whole new door or window. We replace just the glass in the existing frame, which costs less, is installed in a single visit and usually needs no permit.
We replace sliding door, lanai and window glass throughout The Villages, across Sumter, Lake and Marion counties, and in nearby Lady Lake, Wildwood, Fruitland Park and Summerfield. Our offices are in Palm Beach County and on the Treasure Coast, and we also serve Central Florida. We’re in The Villages area every week, and more than once a week when it’s busy, so estimates are usually about a week out.
Our hours are Mon–Fri 8am–5pm, with Saturdays available by request.

Glass Replacement for Homes in The Villages
Many homes in The Villages have a lanai with sliding glass doors to the living area, plus insulated (double-pane) windows throughout. After years of Central Florida sun and heat, the seals on those glass units start to fail, and that’s the most common glass problem we see here.
- Foggy or hazy glass between the panes of a slider or window
- A cracked pane from a stray golf ball, a dropped object or a door that slammed shut
- Older single-pane plate glass that’s worth upgrading to tempered safety glass
- Sliding doors that are hard to move because the rollers under the heavy glass panel are worn
Every home is a little different, so when we measure we look at the whole door or window, not just the glass, and tell you what we find.

Foggy Double-Pane Glass in Lanai and Sliding Doors
Fog, haze or water spots between the two panes mean the seal on the insulated glass unit has failed. You can’t clean it from either side, and the door or window loses most of its insulating value, which you’ll notice in the summer.
The fix is to replace just the sealed glass unit in the existing frame. We measure, order a new unit cut to size and install it with new glazing, so the frame, track and screen stay as they are. On a sliding door, we take the panel out, reglaze it and rehang it, and we can replace worn rollers in the same visit.
The same glass-only approach works for broken window glass, cracked sliding door glass and impact glass that can be reglazed. If a French door is built so its glass can’t be removed cleanly, we’ll tell you up front.

Safer Glass and Easy Scheduling
Tempered glass breaks into small, blunt pieces instead of sharp shards. The Florida Building Code requires it in hazardous locations, such as doors, glass next to doors, large panes near the floor and glass by tubs and showers. If you have older plate glass in one of those spots, we’ll recommend tempered when we replace it.
We keep the visit simple: a free written quote before any work, glass cut to your measurements, and installation in a single visit.
Is the glass worth replacing? If the frame, track and rollers are in good shape, replacing the glass is the better value. If the door itself is worn out, we’ll tell you honestly. In The Villages we currently do glass replacement only, not new door or window installations.
What Does Glass Replacement Cost in The Villages?
Glass pricing depends on the size, the type of glass and the door or window it goes in, so we quote every job after measuring.
- A small tempered door lite usually runs a few hundred dollars for the glass.
- Insulated (double-pane) units for foggy sliders and windows, impact and specialty glass cost considerably more.
- Plate glass can be cheaper for small pieces, but we recommend tempered for larger panes and doors.
- Replacing just the glass is almost always cheaper and faster than a new door or window.
